Animator and student Qing Han has created a charming short film for his final thesis project that has recently received some attention on Buzzfeed. It's a sweet animation made using Flipbook, Photoshop and Aftereffects depicting a young girl who paints glowing yellow fish with a gigantic, magical paintbrush.
In the film, called "Night Light," the girl illuminates the dark outdoor scene of an Asian village with her imaginative artwork, making her very own pets that swim through the evening sky. But one of the creatures she paints swims away before she can give it a second eye, causing the bright fish to take a tumble down the side of a mountain. Of course the film has a happy ending, and the giant fish eventually gains its full sight, but watch it for yourself and let us know what you think in the comments section below.
Would Hayao Miyazaki approve of this budding animator's work?
