CHARLOTTE, N.C. ? NBC News special correspondent and former ?NBC Night News? anchor Tom Brokaw told The Daily Caller on Wednesday evening that he views the media coverage of the Democratic and Republican conventions as fair to both sides of the political spectrum.
?It?s about the same. You know, we?re still sorting out what was said last night from the podium about middle class tax cuts verses Janesville [Wisconsin] last week, so you know it?s a matter of sorting through it,? Brokaw told TheDC at the Democratic National Convention.
?The public is patient about finding out finally what happened, putting it into some kind of a context. We?re all breathing heavily because we?re here, but the public has a longer view.?
Brokaw was referring to GOP vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan accusing President Barack Obama of failing to keep an auto plant in his hometown of Janesville, Wisc., open during his address at the Republican National Convention.
During their convention, Democrats have said Republican nominee Mitt Romney?s tax plan will hurt the middle class. However, media outlets like Bloomberg News pointed out that the Obama campaign has misrepresented Romney?s tax proposals.
On Thursday morning Brokaw was rushed to a Charlotte hospital after appearing on MSNBC?s ?Morning Joe.? The 72-year-old reporter later tweeted that his symptoms were caused by accidental consumption of an Ambien sleeping pill.
