Each year, in communities across the country, dynamic, passionate candidates engage in a spirited competition to earn The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society?s ?Man & Woman of the Year? titles, by raising funds for blood cancer research. On May 5th, LLS candidate Sanam Toosi held a fashionable fundraiser at Josephine?s.
Sanam Toossi says that she is honored to be a Woman of the Year candidate. Close to the time she was nominated, one of her friends??was diagnosed with Leukemia. This gave her personal motivation to raise funds and increase awareness of blood born cancers throughout the community. Sanam is dedicating her campaign to her friend diagnosed with Leukemia,? her friend Stef Woods,?and all those impacted by various forms of cancer.
Sanam and her team, the Cancer Kickers, have been diligently working to make a difference in the lives of individuals who bravely battle Leukemia, Lymphoma, and all forms of cancer.
?These community and professional activities have been worthwhile experiences,? says Toossi? ?I hope to continue volunteering for the community at-large for many years to come.? ?Sanam would like to thank the Cancer Kickers, her parents, David, friends, and family members for their continuing support of her efforts and this campaign. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society?s ?Man & Woman of the Year? Washington DC area will be crowned on June 11. ?
